ABOUT US

Our Story

Hi there, it’s Boushra, Clara and Cassia. We are three students from the University Paul Valery of Montpellier. Let us introduce ourselves to you!

My name is Bushra. I am a 38 years old mother of two daughters (12 and 16 years old). I completed my school studies, but I did not make it to the university. Now I am trying hard to get a university degree in a language other than my mother tongue. This is a bit exhausting, but on the other hand, it's fun and interesting. I love reading, cooking, traveling and exploring nature. I am a non-social person, but I like to be present from time to time in family gatherings or among friends. I am Lebanese and have been residing in Egypt for 17 years. I hope to graduate and find a suitable job.

Hi everybody! I'm Clara. I'm 29 years old philosophy student in distance learning. I'm a single mom of two children who are 9 and almost 7 years old. I'm also a worker. Sometimes I have some missions for interiors renovation work in private homes. And when I have additional time, I can do freelancing in illustrations. After having moved around often we have finally settled in Sète, where we have been living for two and a half years now. I love life in general, meeting people, having people by my side to share something to eat, share the simple things in life.So many things interest me. When I was younger, I studied Art in Paris. I trained as an engraver (on wood, coper, stone ...) to work as an illustrator, but I also enjoy using other artistic techniques of expression. I also play music (piano, guitar, traditional percussions ...)... And a lot of different stuffs. I dream about making information and learning easy and funnier for everyone.

Hi, I am Cassia! I am a 24 years old student in Italian literature and Civilization in Distance learning. I am also an Entrepreneur and a Comedian.
Beside anything about Art and Culture, I love Nature, Animals, meditating, History, Archaeology and Travelling. I also play the violin. What can I add? I live near Paris, and I am half Italian. I loooove cooking and meeting new people. I am willing to dedicate time to share knowledge with the world. Carpe Diem!

what brings us together? What are our commonalities?

All three have different origins, and have the experience of multiculturalism from our "interbreeding" and our travels. It's the love for the world, the people, and this incredible plurality of seeing the world and living it that brings us together for the creation of this blog.

What is this blog about?

This blog is all about the different ways of living in the world. Throughout the lenses of history, art, modern living, multi-cultural societies, we will explore those different lifestyles and traditions: in everyday life, work life, spiritual or health field. We will also see the marks it has left on our lives.

Why are we talking particularly about this topic?

Well, with the evolution of life and the progress of the ages, the concept of culture has developed. It’s obvious to us that culture's taking a huge part in our lives, that’s why we need to keep developing our knowledge with new creative thoughts on how to improve the ability to live with other people, cultures, and traditions.
‘Society’ and ‘Culture’ are indeed two inseparable things, and no one can deny the impact of culture on society, and vice versa. It is also needed and to shed light seriously on the importance of culture in building one's personality and his ability to live around various people with fully understanding of how to express himself. It makes a person abide by some rules and laws that become habits with the days, even human feels a lot of regret when he breaks one of them, in same time is a kind of internal control, this is something that cannot be easily reinforced in the hearts of human beings.
In fact it’s significantly important that human needs to know about different cultures, therefore he can be confident about himself, gaining experience such as realizing everything he hears and sees, and to be aware of every word he says. Moreover, knowing own culture makes human feels a sense of belonging to his religion and society in all its details, and the more this culture is rooted in the human mind, the more he is convinced of it, and the more he is able to spread it around him, in addition to the fact that culture makes a person more stable in his life or his work far away from all anxiety or worries.
To summarize, by learning about different cultures we can become more open to other people as well as thinking more deeply about our own cultures. We can say that by exploring, a person has the ability to recognize/identify the good and bad culture, especially when he learns about cultures other than the one he inherited. He compares them with what he has gained in his society, and knows what is right and what is wrong.
Finally, it can be said that everything we mentioned such as culture and its elements, development and his importance always refers to the status of culture and its role in the evolution of societies.

What is the " raison d'être " of your blog?
In the age of technology, the era of openness to the whole world, there must be many ways to carry out different cultures.
As university students, we chose the blog to help readers become more open-minded thanks to further exposure to different cultures.
It's so fabulous to see that culture and society have always nourished each other, and that they have grown and evolved by exchanging. Different cultures around the world have always met, men are constantly meeting and exchanging to create new ways of living.the »raison d’être » of our blog would be to highlight the beauty of the plurality of culture around the world, to highlight the fact that everything we are, individually, but also what we can live together, comes from encounters between communities, peoples, countries, ...
To also highlight the fact that culture is not not doomed to stagnate, but that each generation can appropriate it and continue to make it live and evolve.

This also helps us to explore strange, interesting and exciting topics.
If you are interested in multi culturalism, history, art, way of living, than this blog is for you ! This blog is for everyone around the world, with openness and curiosity of the others, and asking « where does it comes from » or why would they do that ?
